Each earring is centred on an octagonal step-cut Colombian emerald of 5 to 6mm, circa 1.88 carats across the pair. Around it, mother of pearl is cut to pear forms of 6 to 8mm, its shifting sheen set against the fixed depth of the emerald. Round brilliant diamonds are pavé-set along the contour of each petal, so the outline is drawn in light rather than in metal. The earrings measure 20mm by 20mm.
